The Norwegian pianist HÅVARD GIMSE will lecture about Jean Sibelius piano works at the next masterclass on Thursday 19th. of february 2009.
MASTERCLASS 2 - 2008
The second masterclass at the Academy was successfully conducted by Jiri Hlinka in Nov. 2008. The internationally known pianist Leif Ove Andsnes made an insightful and in debth lecture about Grieg`s music focusing on less known masterpieces composed by Grieg. Leif Ove played examples of how Grieg`s compositions was influenced by Norwegian folk music, Mendelssohn and others.

FANTASTIC GRAND OPENING!!
The Prof. Jiri Hlinka Grand Piano Academy was official opened by the Minister of Defence, Anne-Grete Strøm-Eriksen on Sunday 7th. of September 2008. The concert was an extraordinary performance by some of the finest piano artists in the world. Never ever have we seen such great performing artists on the same stage. The artists Geir Botnen, Håvard Gimse, Leif Ove Andsnes, Steffen Horn, Suzanna Hlinka, Marina Kan, Dimitris Kostopoulos, Christian Grøvlen, Christian Ihle Hadland, Matthias S. Halvorsen, Joachim Carr and finally Jiri Hlinka made the evening very special with a concert to remember!

More than 150 distinguished guests attended the opening. The grand opening of the academy was conducted by Prof. Jiri Hlinka Grand Piano Academy in collaboration with the Embassy of the Czech Republic, Rekstensamlingene, and Troll Classics.
