The Academy


The Prof. Jiri Hlinka Grand Piano Academy is a state of art piano and chamber music academy under direction the legendary pianist Jiri Hlinka. The academy provides high quality intensive piano and chamber music training for qualified students. We train, develop and educate young talented musicians to the highest level of perfection, performance and musicality.



Through intensive Master class sessions, conducted by Jiri Hlinka, students will enhance and enrich their professional performance tailored to individual needs and requirements. The unified goals and objectives for the Master class sessions will be clearly defined as an individual plan for each student.



Target Groups:


The Master Classes are a post education service for highly qualified young established pianists who have won prizes in international piano competitions or have gained international acceptance for their music and performance. The academy also provides  classes of Chamber Music where the grand piano is part of the orchestra.


Masterclass




Masterclasses are conducted twice in Autumn and twice in Spring.  A total of four master classes each year. Each Master Class is 10 intensive days of training conducted by Prof. Jiri Hlinka. The target group for this training are young talented, established artists and highly qualified pianists who have won international prices and rewards for their talent and performances.





Each Master class can have a total of 10 students.


At the end of each Master class the students will perform at least one official performance at local venues.

* A recorded (non edited) performance of at least two contrasting musical pieces" (CD, DVD,Video). Minimum length 30 minutes.

Accommodation:


Accommodation is provided at Rekstensamlingene. The students will be accommodated at Rekstensamlingene. We have 5 apartments available for a total of 10 students. 2 students per apartment. Each apartment has an upright piano for training purposes. In addition, the academy has 8 Grand piano’s available for students. These include Bechstein, Bohemia, Boston, Petrof and Steinway & Sons.


Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
